Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Wayfare Travels (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use our website, contact us, or make a booking. We are the data controller of your personal data and are committed to handling it in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who we are

Wayfare Travels, 22 Princess Street, Edinburgh, EH2 2AN, Scotland, GB. For any privacy question or request, contact us at bookings@wayfaretravels.co.uk or +44 7988 515953.

2. The information we collect

Information you give us — when you complete an enquiry or quote form, or contact us, we collect your name, email, phone number and the details of your trip and message. When you make a booking, we (and the suppliers fulfilling it) will need traveller details such as full names, dates of birth and, where required by the airline or destination, passport information.

Information collected automatically — if you accept analytics cookies, we collect usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you reached the site, via Google Analytics (with IP anonymisation). We also process the search terms you enter (for example route and dates) to return live fares. We do not collect or store full payment-card details on this website.

3. How we use your information and our legal basis

  • To respond to enquiries and prepare quotes — on the basis of taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering you.
  • To make and manage your booking — on the basis of performing our contract with you and meeting our legal obligations.
  • To measure and improve the website (analytics) — only with your consent, which you give through our cookie banner and can withdraw at any time.
  • To send you offers or news — only if you have asked us to, and you can opt out at any time.
  • To meet legal, accounting and regulatory requirements, and to prevent fraud — on the basis of our legal obligations and legitimate interests.

4. Who we share it with

We share your information only as needed to provide our services: with the airlines, hotels and other travel suppliers required to fulfil your booking; with our flight search and technology providers (including Duffel, which powers live fares); with analytics providers (Google) where you have consented; and with our email, hosting and IT providers who help us run the business. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect against fraud. We do not sell your personal data.

5. International transfers

Travel is global, so some suppliers and service providers may be located outside the UK. Where your data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law (such as adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses), or the transfer is necessary to perform your booking.

6. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry information for as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards. Booking and financial records are kept for as long as required to meet our legal and accounting obligations (generally up to six years). We then securely delete or anonymise the data.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access your personal data; to have inaccurate data corrected; to ask us to erase data or restrict its use; to object to certain processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent where we rely on it (without affecting earlier processing). To exercise any right, contact bookings@wayfaretravels.co.uk. We will respond within the time limits set by law.

8. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy. Analytics cookies are only set after you accept them.

9. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including restricting access and securing our systems. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.

10. Children

This website is intended for adults making travel arrangements. We do not knowingly collect data from children except the traveller details an adult provides when booking for a family or group.

11. Complaints

We hope to resolve any concern directly — please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the current version is always published here with its “last updated” date.
